History & Artisans

This lampshade is woven by artisan families from Michoacán who work with chuspata, an aquatic plant obtained from the region's lakes. Chuspata is cut in specific seasons, sun-dried, and re-moistened before weaving to regain flexibility. Each piece reflects hours of careful work and knowledge passed down through generations.

Care instructions
  • Remove dust with a dry cloth, duster, or soft brush.
  • Do not expose to prolonged direct sunlight, rain, or constant humidity.
  • Preferably use indoors or in well-ventilated covered spaces.
Circular life cycle

Chuspata is a natural plant fiber that can be composted at the end of its useful life. The metal frame can be recycled or reused. By choosing pieces made with natural fibers and artisanal processes, you support more conscious, durable, and responsible consumption.
